Buckwheat honey is a highly nutritious honey. Dark-coloured honeys in general and buckwheat honey in particular have been shown to possess exceptionally strong antioxidant properties. These antioxidants are beneficial chemicals that prevent molecular damage to your cells. Buckwheat honey is an excellent source of vitamins and minerals. It also contains betaine, a compound that aids in liver functioning and may help reduce the risk of heart disease. Daily consumption of buckwheat honey has been shown to improve the antioxidant levels in the blood and helps prevent lipid peroxidation, or damage to the lipids, such as cholesterol.
We do not make any medical claims so please seek additional advice from your health care professional on dietary requirements.

Good to know: Crystallisation is a natural process in raw honey that indicates rawness and high quality. If you prefer your honey softer, we would recommend putting the jar on the radiator for a few hours and it will soften up. Alternatively, you could just place it in some hot water and make sure the temperature is not higher than 40 °C.
